Networking and Education

Continuing to gain knowledge and build skills is an important part of whatever work you do. It can be especially difficult to make time for in the animal welfare field, especially for smaller organizations with small staffs and very limited resources. One of the IFHS' primary goals is to provide quality, accessible education opportunities for people. We do that through periodic short-form seminars held around the state and remotely, as well as a fall weekend conference. In both of these forms, we work hard to bring nationally recognized experts in to speak on a wide range of topics of interest, while also keeping costs accessible to the most limited budget.

In the past we've held educational programs covering:

  • TNR Programs

  • Disaster response preparation

  • Fundraising projects

  • Infection control in shelters

  • Horse programs

  • Dog and cat enrichment

  • Community outreach programs

  • Legislative Issues

  • Board development

  • And more!
